Transforming Subjective Imagery into Objective Reality
Case Study: “Kariz” underground city’s entrance complex Supervisor: Dr. Aliasghar Adibi (a.adibi@ut.ac.ir)
Approach: Collage as a creative design process in architecture
2016 - 2017

The architecture is an art of interactions between users and the world around them, and this mediation occurs through sensory perceptions. (Johanni Pallasmaa). These experiences and emotions of designers can be expressed in the collage method. Using the irrelevant materials, college can create a non-linear design process and new narrative thoughts, which comes as a dialogue between its components in their context. In this method, designers should investigate in their unconscious layers of memories, emotions, experiences, and transform it in the form of an architectural product. This innovative design process includes the following steps:
1.creating collages, 2.collage analysis, 3.make a drawing of conceptual collages, 4.creating 3D models from inner and outer spaces of collages, 5.matching all of the documents with each other and architectural rules and standards.
Because of the unique topography of subterranean, this project imagines an entrance building to connect different part of the underground spaces with outer areas by allowing entering from different floors, as well as solving sustainable issues and responding to employer’s requirements.

Valiasr Multi-Functional Complex
Supervisor: Dr. Mahmoodi (amahmood@ut.ac.ir)& Dr. Eini Far- University of Tehran
Approach: Programming in architecture
fall 2015

This project focused on interactions between users, project’s spaces and specific traditional context of Valiasr Street by managing all data as a specific planned program. The location of the proposed complex was separated with Valiasr Street.  By extending the buildings in both sides of the street and making visual and functional similarities between the two parts, this project aimed to connect the current needs of the users with Valiasr traditional public image. Because of the crowded and memorable context, this new complex imagines a sustainable and vital space for users by contributing each part of the building with multiple useful programs due to users and designer proposals.

Vertical Garden
Supervisor: Dr.Mansouri (Beh.Mansouri@iauctb.ac.ir)
Approach: Adding greenery in residential towers-Fall 2014

Garden is one of the most crucial aspects of Iranian architecture and culture, which unfortunately has been forgotten these days. This project aimed to redefine the meaning of gardens in today’s hectic life by interring green spaces in current residential complex with maximum use of land due to employer financial matters. This project designed to allow users to have different green perspectives in each floor that is connected vertically with other. Due to the employer’s budget the most economical arrangement of blocks has been chosen among other predicted options.

Laleh Park Cultural Center
Supervisor: Dr. Mirshahzadeh(She.Mishahzade@iauctb.ac.ir)
Approach: Reviving used land-Spring 2014

Laleh Park is of the most sociable places in Tehran, which considers as a pioneered artistic region, considering different types of museums, which were located there. The problem was that one of its corners was dug more than 10 meters for a building’s foundation and when the employer got broke the project stopped for more than 20 years. This design aimed to connect different levels and create a different entrance to this area by mixing architecture and different levels smoothly that users could not understand the enormous difference height. The contoured constructed model showed the main concept, which was a gradual moving. By observing the pedestrian path in other sides of the park and anticipating the path that they might choose to use in this part the project formed its shape.

Girl’s Dormitory in Darakeh
Supervisor: Bahram Shokouhan(shokouhian@yahoo.com)
Approach: Architecture in slope and interior design-fall 2013

(winner of the best design of the year competition at IAUCTB university)

One way to solve accessing problems in slope is to use gradual circulation via dividing the height in manageable measure and connect different parts with vertical accessories. In this method, the roofs of each level connect directly to the level serving the houses above. The rooftops play an integral role in community interaction and friendly cohabitation in which students can easily interact with each other as a gathering open space. The roofs of buildings on lower levels are used as courtyards for rooms on the levels above them. The buildings are interconnected and finally, the interior design of the dorm room is inspired by the internal connection idea.
